More details
Keep Mach Special are campaigning for a better future for their Welsh Town.
Machynlleth is threatened by a massive Tesco Supermarket planning application -27,000 square feet of retail space in a town of 2100 people.
Machynlleth town centre has a collection of beautiful independent shops. Tesco threaten to destroy these shops with a development that is completely out of proportion to the town.
Keep Mach Special is coordinating the town's attempt to stop Tesco superstore and map a better future for the town. 685 letters of objection have been delivered to the planners, but Tesco have massive resources.
Machynlleth has a reputation as a centre for environmental companies and research, and is in the heart of Wales' only designated UNESCO Biosphere.

THanks for your pledge ... we haven't put a link to this on the web site, so do tell anyone you come across!

Machynlleth is not YOUR town. Keep your £50s and your noses OUT of our business!
How about using your money and campaigning energies to get proper decent healthcare re-instated in our (not your) town.
Tesco will not make Machynlleth any less special.
Also, I would welcome any information about how the much vaunted "UNESCO Biosphere" benefits the people of this town in any way at all!
I would really welcome the chance to meet up and talk them through.
We might get on, and you might persuade me.
I'll apply to be a friend on your Facebook site and then we can arrange a place and time? My round.
